The challenge

Today, fruit trees that require thinning are being treated in a uniform fashion. However, in practice each tree requires and benefits from an appropriate individual treatment. Many trees are exposed to a treatment that is not suitable for them and does not allow them to realize their full bearing potential.
An inaccurate thinning process incurs costs and generates problems that affect the plot over time.

AgriWare’s solution

AgriWare’s system makes the thinning process (chemical or mechanical) being applied in deciduous orchards accurate. Each tree is optimally thinned according to its actual physical condition.
The process eliminates variance, increases the tree’s yield and the plot becomes uniform while saving labor expenses.

Next, the data is stored in the cloud and is ready for the thinning process.
AgriWare’s hardware is installed seamlessly inside the thinning vehicle. It downloads the data wirelessly and is now ready to control the thinning process.
The operator needs only to drive around the orchard and a precision smart thinning process is carried out, automatically.

In recent years, AgriWare has been implementing its proprietary technology in Ramat Magshimim’s orchards. During 2018 AgriWare’s system increased yields by more than 25% compared to control plots

The market

AgriWare’s system is intended to treat plots of 25 hectares and above. In Israel, the total of all relevant plots adds up to about 1500 hectares. Israel is ranked 66th by area of apple plots harvested.
The targeted market share is expected to generate a profit increase for the growers of more than 18 million NIS per year, if treated with AgriWare’s technology.
The technology is applicable worldwide. The world’s apple growing area is estimated at about 5 million hectares.
